Bears head coach Lovie Smith refused to publically reveal whether or not the team plans to ink free agent linebacker and former Bear Pisa Tinoisamoa, however, the club is not expected to extend a contract proposal to the Hawaii product, according to an NFL source.
Tinoisamoa worked out for the Bears at Halas Hall on Wednesday, as he attempts to come back from a significant offseason procedure on his problematic knee.
“On our day off, most weeks that’s the time we look at players and see what’s available for us,” Smith said. “We’re a little short at the linebacker position. We really only have five true linebackers, so you want to know what the landscape is out there. Pisa looked pretty good. That’s about all I can say. He looked good. Same old Pisa.”
