Seahawks bring back LB Vobora

Free agent linebacker David Vobora will be re-signing with the Seahawks, Vobora’s agent, Marc Lillibridge, announced on Twitter.

Seahawks linebacker Matt McCoy sprained his MCL and PCL covering a punt in the first quarter of Sunday’s 30-28 loss to the Falcons. With the departure of Lofa Tatupu, and David Hawthorne hindered by a knee injury, the Seahawks have been forced to count on McCoy during passing situations and in the special teams department.

Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll said that McCoy’s injury was serious, but not necessarily season-ending.

A 2008 seventh-round pick out of Idaho by the Rams, Vobora has 97 tackles and two sacks in 34 contests over the last three seasons. A restricted free agent in 2011, the Rams released Vobora in August. Signed by the Seahawks, Vobora had four tackles in two preseason games before he was cut at the end training camp.

Vobora had a tryout with the Houston Texans on September 20.
