The Colts second-round selection, offensive tackle Ben Ijalana, could miss the rest of the season after damaging the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee, Mike Chappell of the Indianapolis Star reports.
Chosen with the 49th overall pick in the 2011 NFL Draft, the 6-foot-4, 317-pounder from Villanova was hurt during the fourth quarter of Monday night’s 24-17 loss to the Buccaneers. Ijalana had entered in to replace Anthony Castonzo, the Colts’ first-rounder, who had left the game with an ankle injury.
The Colts inked first-year offensive lineman Mike Tepper off the practice squad on Monday. Tepper made his regular season NFL debut at right tackle when Jeff Linkenbach moved to left tackle to replace Ijalana.
