Thoughts and Musings

Hey, I gotta say, this Giants team has some heart to it. And it’s something that will serve them well.

-Sorry for the lack of coverage. Just one of those days where everything lines up and can’t avoid it. We apologize.

-The Giants probably should have really beat up on the Cardinals. I mean, they are the better team. But, when you come out flat, you can’t expect to beat up on any team.

-Why did they come out flat? Maybe due to the travel. The Giants also tend to just come out flat, often. That’s been an issue for years. You know what I’m talking about. The 3 and outs, the general listlessness. That’s something that has to be fixed within.

-Coming out flat against a bad team like the Cardinals is okay. You can get away with it. But if you come out flat against the Packers? Forget about it.

-I’m pretty sure that Victor Cruz fumbled the ball. Very sure. But, I guess we got lucky. Refs missed the call.

-I think Eli played a great game. Not flashy. Two touchdowns, no picks, 300+ yards. A very nice 67.% completion percentage. He did his job and did it well.

-Good for you, Jake Ballard. First NFL touchdown. I thought he played a great game. He’s starting to come on a bit.

-Welcome back, Osi Umenyiora.

-I don’t know what’s going on with Justin Tuck, but it needs to get resolved. Why was he on the trip, if his neck wasn’t going to allow him to play? It must have acted up on the flight, or soon after. Would it be worth it to just rest him for the entire week, sit him out for the Seahawks game, and wit until he’s 100% healthy? Maybe.

-I love how Dave Tollefson played. Tuck went down, he got more playing time, and made the most of it.

-Flag football interlude: No game, rained out. This is supposed to be the last game before the playoffs. I’m assuming we’ll make it up next week.

–3rd down conversions: 6-13. Better than what we’ve seen.

-Not a huge fan of the running game, but they were down and needed to pass, so I’m not too worried.

-They had the big Eagles win, looked awful early on yesterday, and then pulled it out. It doesn’t have to be pretty. But this is a 3-1 team that is looking pretty good, with some momentum. Let’s ride it, see where it takes us.
