Mike Vandermause of the Green Bay Press-Gazette reports Packers running back Ryan Grant has been cleared and will likely practice on Wednesday, said Packers coach Mike McCarthy at his Monday press conference.
Grant suffered a kidney bruise a week ago against the Bears and didn’t play against the Broncos on Sunday.
Also, wide receiver Donald Driver (3-20, TD vs. Denver) should be fine, as he’s not in danger of missing Sunday night’s showdown at the Georgia Dome.
The Alcorn State alum was carted to the locker room with a knee injury, but returned in the second half to catch Aaron Rodgers’ fourth touchdown toss.
Driver is a gamer and one of the fierce competitors in all of football, so for him to Week five’s clash in Atlanta – it would take something significantly serious. Furthermore, why would he comeback to be the recipient of a scoring sling from the rocket launcher of Rodgers, if his knee wasn’t good enough to play?
Needless to say, I don’t think the Packers’ training staff would’ve let him out there against Denver with the change of the knee possibly hindering his chances of playing against the Falcons the following week.
