It took a little while, but the Buffalo Bills got their juices flowing and after trailing early 3-0, the Bills blitzed the Bengals with 17 unanswered points in the second quarter to lead 17-3 at the half.
Cincinnati struck first on a Mike Nugent 31-yard field goal that finished off a 9-play, 34-yard drive with just over two minutes left in the first quarter. Buffalo tied the game at three early in the second quarter, as Rian Lindell pulled the Bills even with a 43-yard field goal. The Bills’ defense took the game over late in the first half. Bryan Scott’s 43-yard interception put the Bills on top 10-3 and then George Wilson’s interception led to a Fred Jackson 2-yard touchdown run to put Buffalo up 17-3.
