I realize how obvious the title of this article is, but sometimes things that seem obvious need to be addressed. For instance, NOT blowing halftime leads of 17-7, 17-0, and 20-0, only to fall to 0-3. The Vikings have looked like one of the best teams in the league this year… In the first half of games. For some reason, we have trouble closing out the second halves of games this year, and we can’t keep letting this happen.
I understand I am a columnist, and normally I report news or facts, but I am just like any other Vikings fan out there, decked out in purple and gold each sunday cheering on my favorite team. With unexplained losses 3 straight weeks, in games that we seemed to have complete control of up until the 2nd half kickoff, this columnist needs to vent.
Leslie Frazier views tomorrow’s game as a “must win” in order to regain momentum and attempt to make a playoff run for the ages coming off of an 0-3 start. All the fingers in the world can be pointed when trying to figure out who is to blame for these losses, but in the end, you win and lose as a team. The Vikings are in a very winable matchup tomorrow in Kansas City against a fellow 0-3 Cheifs team who has already lost RB Jamaal Charles, TE Tony Moeki, and FS Eric Berry for the season. The Vikings have not won in Kansas City since 1974, but they will look to change that tomorrow at noon.
I do think the Vikings will bounce back and get their first win of the season tomorrow. I think Peterson, as usual, will have a big game, and hopefully we see some improvement in McNabb and the passing game. I think the Vikings win 24-17.
