Giants wide receiver Hakeem Nicks hasn’t been listed on the Giants’ injury report since playing against the Rams in Week two, however, that doesn’t necessarily mean he hasn’t been hurting according to Mike Garafolo of the Newark Star-Ledger.
The North Carolina product, who was being watched closely by trainers as he warmed up before Sunday’s game against the Eagles, is not practicing on Thursday. The reason, at this point, is unclear.
There’s a chance it’s the knee issue he suffered in the season opener against the Redskins, though that won’t be known until Tom Coughlin’s post-practice press conference. Since Hakeem’s seven-catch performance against Washington in Week one, he has only corralled seven receptions the past two contests.
With that said, unless something drastic emerges, you can expect the former Tar Heel to play on Sunday against the Cardinals.
Tuck update: Giants defensive end did not practice Wednesday because of a strained groin and pain in his neck and is sitting out for the second straight day. Tuck was supposedly improving leading up to Wednesday, yet, the Notre Dame alum has said that he will play on Sunday at Arizona.
Osi and Mario: Giants defensive end Osi Umenyiora (knee) is practicing after suiting up Wednesday for the first time in over a month. That’s a good sign because it means the knee didn’t swell, as it did in August.
Also, wide receiver Mario Manningham (concussion) is practicing again. The former Wolverine pass catcher has said that he will play on Sunday in the Valley of the Sun.
