For the second time in three weeks a member of the Baltimore Ravens defense has been named the Conference Defensive player of the week. After a Week One victory over Pittsburgh Terrell Suggs received the honor, this week it is linebacker Ray Lewis.
Lewis had a game-high ten tackles, a sack and a forced fumble that was returned for a touchdown by Defensive Tackle Haloti Ngata.
Over the span of his 16 year career Lewis has won the award 8 times, the most recent being Week Ten of the 2008 season.
Lewis has showed signs of age but continues to produce at a high level. In three games he has 25 tackles, 1 sack, 1 interception, 2 forced fumbles, and his team defense has allowed a league best 13.3 points per game.
