The Texans seem to feel that Arian Foster is on the way back, and no longer will the team need the services of Steve Slaton, as John Mclain of the Houston Chronicle reports that he’s been released.
After Steve Slaton carried 4 times for 8 yards against the Saints, Texans decided they’d seen enough. He was waived today.
Slaton had seven carries for 20 yards this year, and despite injuries to Foster and Ward, the Texans didn’t feel it was necessary to play their fourth-string running back. Although Slaton had a tremendous rookie year in 2008 (268 carries for 1,282 yards and nine touchdowns), he’s fought injury problems and neck surgery.
