Rams Making Wholesale Roster Changes

The Rams Tryout Tuesday has been relatively calm to this point in the season, but the urgency has been pushed up a few notes with the undressing given by the Ravens offense last week.  Per Jim Thomas of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, the Rams released S Jermale Hines and also TE Ben Guidugli (who was on the practice squad) and Rod Hood could be joining the active roster.

Here is our friend Mike from RamView on Rod Hood:

– Roderick Hood: 5’11, 198, 29-yo cut by Tennessee. Missed all of last year there due to torn ACL. Was here for a physical in August, and I believe also worked out here in 2010. Nickelback from Steve Spagnuolo’s Philadelphia years. Sticks to receivers well, has good hands and can turn mistakes into pick-sixes. Had 3 picks in just 6 games with Titans in 2009 as midseason replacement for Nick Harper. Titans fans howled when Harper got his starting job back. Subpar tackler and jammer, will bite on fakes and give up big plays. Rams keep flirting with signing Hood, but I wonder if they trust his knees. Seems like this team has enough issues like that. But Hood’s high on the list.

The good news here is the Rams realize that something needs to change if they are going to get some momentum going here in the early going and actually knock off a good team.  Some urgency would be great for this team right now.  Something tells me this is not the end of the roster moves for the week.
