TE Josh Baker to Take Cumberland’s Spot on the Roster

Jenny Vrentas of The Star-Ledger reports that the Jets will mvoe up TE Josh Baker to take the spot of the now injured Jeff Cumberland.

The Jets will elevate tight end Josh Baker from the practice squad to replace Jeff Cumberland, per a person with knowledge of the team’s plans. That person requested anonymity because the team has not yet announced the move.

Baker is a versatile player who also played fullback during the preseason. He will allow the Jets to continue using multiple tight end sets with starter Dustin Keller and Matt Mulligan.

Baker joined the team this summer as an undrafted free agent out of Northwest Missouri State.
