Texans outside linebacker Mario Williams will undergo tests today to determine the extent of his right knee, Jerome Solomon of the Houston Chronicle reports.
“The biggest thing is you don’t want it to tighten up on you, and I was trying to keep it loose,” Williams said. “We have to figure it out tomorrow once we go in and get a better look.
“There is nothing I can really say about it until then.”
Moved to linebacker in new defensive coordinator Wade Phillips’ 3-4 defense, Williams has five tackles and a pair of quarterbacks through three games. Williams had just one tackle in Sunday’s 40-33 loss to the New Orleans Saints before teammate Antonio Smith fell into his leg.
The first overall pick of the 2006 NFL Draft, Williams is in the final year of his contract.
