MNF Rivalry

Monday Night Football is always a great night. It is even more great when the two teams playing are in early contention and don’t like each other. The Redskins and Cowboys square off on Monday night for the 15th time as both try to establish early season supremacy.

The ‘Skins and ‘Boys have met more than any other teams on Monday Night and have split those games at seven a piece. A new chapter will be written tonight as Washington invades Dallas undefeated in the early season and looks to hold onto sole possession of the NFC East.

One last quick MNF series fact, the last time these teams met on Monday Night was in 2005 in Irving. The game was slow, and saw the Burgundy and Gold trailing by 13 with just under 3 minutes left to play. Despite not having scored a touchdown all season, the Redskins struck lightening in the bottle and went on to win 14-13 behind two Santana Moss touchdown receptions.

Hopefully more fireworks will occur tonight and will land the Redskins another NFC East victory.
