So I scanned the stats from today’s game looking for some sort of silver lining. If I’m going to show my mug at work tomorrow I’ve got to have something positive to say (other than maybe “Sam Bradford’s dad can beat up Joe Flacco’s dad”). It’s not much, but here’s what I’ve got:
1 Cadillac Williams (STL) rushed for more yards than Ricky Williams (RAV)
2 The Rams average punt was longer than the Ravens (46.5 vs 44.5)
3 The last time we were beat by 30 points was week 6 of 2010 against the Detroit Lions (44-6). The next week we came back and beat a good San Diego Chargers team 20-17.
4 We can moan and groan about another embarrassing loss, but if you remember, because of the lockout, we only had about a week and a half of training camp. We typically start out slow anyways so under these circumstances we shouldn’t be too surprised at our rough start.
Ok, I’m starting to believe again (enough to make it to work tomorrow anyways). The season may not pan out the way we expected, but Spagnuolo is a builder. Hang in there Rams fans!
