Although the Giants are hopeful, Paul Schwartz of the New York Post reports that wide receiver Mario Manningham has not yet been cleared by doctors to practice after a concussion suffered Monday night against the Rams. The former Wolverine standout did attend all team meetings and the Giants need Manningham to be cleared by the doctors prior to Sunday’s showdown against the NFC East rival Eagles.
With Domenik Hixon out for the season, the Giants may have to count on Brandon Stokley to aid Hakeem Nicks and Eli’s aerial attack.
Possibly, third-round rookie from Troy, Jerrel Jernigan, could be in the mix for some playing time on Sunday in Philadelphia if Manningham is sidelined.
