It took a week for the boos to go away, but at home Sunday vs the Bengals, the Broncos got on track as Kyle Orton and co. took a lead and held on for a 24-22 win over the Bengals.
Orton and the Broncos travel to Tennessee this week, looking to get to 2-1 as they take on the surprising Titans, who beat the Ravens at home last week 26-13.
The Broncos pass game and run game was on last week, as against the Bengals it was former Ravens RB Willis McGahee running for 101 yards in the win over the Bengals, and he will probably have the bulk of the carries vs the Titans as well.
Orton will have to be careful against the Titans secondary, as against them last week Joe Flacco of the Ravens was held in check, throwing for just 197 yards and two picks in the 13-point Baltimore set back.
On defense the Broncos will have to contend with not only the hot hand of Matt Hasselbeck, who threw for 358 yards against Baltimore, but the hottest WR in the AFC in Kenny Britt, who has already had two 100+ yard games.
Hasselbeck and Britt will pick on a banged up Broncos secondary that was without Champ Baily a week ago. It will be helping out on Britt and frustrating him that will get the job done Sunday on the road.
Denver needs to put pressure on Hasselbeck, and of course you also have to be careful with the Titans run game, as they will probably try to finally get Chris Johnson going after two subpar games to start 2011.
The Titans gained a huge amount of confidence with the home win a week ago, and I think here at home they will again be carried by Britt and Hasselbeck and will get a win over the Broncos. Tennessee 24 Denver 17
