Running back Jamaal Charles was carted to the locker room during the first quarter of today’s game against the Lions with a left knee injury.
Charles was running out of bounds when his foot hit the first-down marker on the turf, causing him slip and land awkwardly.
The Chiefs have listed Charles’ return as “questionable”.
Over the last two seasons, Charles has 2,587 yards and 12 touchdowns rushing with 85 receptions for 765 yards and 4 touchdowns, earning much-deserved Pro Bowl and All-Pro recognition after last season.
Losing Charles for any stretch of time would be a big blow to the Chiefs, who have already lost Pro Bowl safety Eric Berry for the season to a torn ACL.
