The calf strain that has tight end Marcedes Lewis listed as questionable on the teams injury report will be tested out Friday to see how much he can push off it.
Lewis will simply rest the injury and undergo treatment until he takes the field on Friday. “I know when I’m at my best, I give our team a better shot of winning,” Lewis said. “That’s why it’s annoying. It’s frustrating.”
The Pro Bowl TE didn’t take part in Wednesday’s practice. He suffered the injury during the season opener. “I thought this is not a cramp,” Lewis said. “… If it was a cramp, the whole muscle would’ve contracted. It was only one spot where I felt it. It’s slightly strained. I’m doing everything I can to see how it is on Sunday.”
If Lewis can’t go Sunday, Zach Miller, who missed the opener with a knee injury, would take his place in the lineup. Miller said he practiced fully Wednesday and expected to be full-go Thursday during practice.
