The Rams Danny Amendola injured his elbow in ways elbows should bend on Sunday against the Philadelphia Eagles. Turf Show Times has the picture a few too many times, I won’t show it here because I’ve already thrown up on my computer monitor enough.
A day or two after the injury we were hearing that Amendola would be out anywhere from 8 weeks to the whole year. A few days later, this from NFL oracle Adam Schefter:
Danny Amendola actually wants to play [this week against the Giants], and the Rams doctors are gonna have to try to hold him out.
Danny, we love you, but this is insane. Take at least a week and get your elbow back to 100%. We understand you can run, but at less than 100%, you won’t be helping anyone to head out there. You are a receiver and you need both arms to catch the ball. The Rams fans absolutely love that you want to take a potentially season ending injury and turn around in less than 1 week, but you don’t have to. We need you for the largest part of the season that you can muster, going out and re-injuring your elbow is not going to help anyone.
We know you are tough kid, we get it. Take a seat and let that elbow heal up for at least one week.
