Chargers On the Lookout for a Kicker with Keading Out

One week into the season, the Chargers are already looking into a replacement for their kicker, Nate Keading, who appears to be out for the year with a torn ACL.

Kaeding was injured during the runback by Vikings returner Percy Harvin to start the game. The return ended up going for a score.

Though P Mike Scifres performed valiantly in Kaeding’s stead yesterday, drilling a 40-yard FG and three PATs in his first place-kicking action since college, expect San Diego to move quickly to replace Kaeding.

Kris Brown, Shayne Graham, Nick Novak, Dave Rayner and Jeff Reed could be among the usual suspects waiting by their phones.
