The Browns are concerned about the punting position, as a day after the team fell at home to the Bengals 27-17 the team worked out former Chicago Bears punter Brad Maynard.
Sunday punter Richmond McGee was flat out bad in 8 punts, averaging just 36 yards a punt and a net of 31.6. He had a punt of 20 yards to start the game, a drive that resulted in a Bengals field goal.
Reggie Hodges, who was the Browns regular punter, is out for the season after being injured during training camp.
The 37-year-old Maynard is a 15-year veteran, having spent 10 years with the Bears and four with the Giants. Maynard spent time with the Texans in the preseason.
