It’s here. Football. And on this 10 year anniversary of that tragic day, perhaps football can uplift us.

I’m thinking that the Giants can do some damage today. Good run game and set up the play action pass. I don’t think the lack of a tight end will hurt tonight. Have to watch out for Brian Orakpo. Giants will look to put a tight end on him, for blocking purposes. The Giants don’t need to do anything fancy, just no turnovers.
Well, I guess we’ll finally see what this defense is made of. The Redskins, like any Mike Shanahan team, can run the ball, and they’re going to do so often, seeing as they willingly chose Rex Grossman as their QB. The Redskins don’t really present a huge threat for the secondary, other than Chris Cooley. But, Greg Jones will be tested at middle linebacker. They are going to attack him and attack him often. The Skins are going to try to isolate him. We’ll see how he responds. How he does will tell us a lot about the game.
I think the Redskins could be really, really bad. Starting Rex Grossman at QB is not really a smart decision, but it wasn’t like they had much of a choice. They’ll have to run the ball a lot, and teams are going to force Grossman to throw a lot. On defense, they don’t have much outside Brian Orakpo, who is a star. I think that they can run the ball well, but not well enough to beat good teams. I’m sure they will be playing with a lot of emotion today, and that’s always something to look out for.
This is going to be an emotional game, especially being in DC. That’s going to play into the outcome. Still, even with the injuries, the Giants are simply the better team. And barring just a poorly executed gameplan, the Giants should just come out and make things look easy. PREDICTION: Giants 24, Redskins 10
