LaRon Landry told the assembled media today that, as of right now, he will likely be missing the Redskins season opener against the New York Giants this Sunday.
Landry appears to have aggravated his hamstring injury, which he originally pulled prior to the Redskins preseason game against Indianapolis, during a portion of Saturday’s practice. He had an MRI on the hamstring today, which showed a “setback” in the healing process.
He did mention that the injury to his Achilles tendon – which forced the Redskins to place Landry on injured reserve last season – is fine and has “no questions” regarding it’s recovery and status.
With Landry out and Kareem Moore still on the Physically Unable to Perform (PUP) list, Reed Doughty will more than likely be starting at Strong Safety on Sunday, next to OJ Atogwe.
