Cards Reduce the Roster to 53

The Cardinals reduced their roster to 53 players on Friday, 24 hours before all teams are required to be at the number.

Veteran punter Ben Graham, cornerback Fred Bennett, quarterback Brodie Croyle, center Ben Claxton, and safety Matt Ware were released, and offensive lineman Floyd Womack and rookie wide receiver Sean Jeffcoat were placed on injured reserve.

Waived on Friday were safety Jared Campbell, linebackers Will Davis and Cyril Obiozor, Kendall Smith and Pago Togafau, cornerbacks Marshay Green, Bryant Nnabuife and Thad Turner, defensive ends Kenny Iwebema and Jeremy Navarre, defensive tackle Ricky Lumpkin and D.J. Young, offensive linemen Cliff Louis, Kris O’Dowd, and Tom Pestock, tight end Steve Skelton, wide receivers Aaron Nichols and Isaiah Williams, running back William Powell, and fullback Reagan Maui’a.
