Predicting the Impact Ricky Williams Will Have on the Ravens in 2011

Ricky Williams Impact:

Ricky Williams  is 5-10, 230 pounds and we can be sure we will see him in short yardage, goaline and just some pure power running.  It will be a good change of pace with Ray Rice as the starter.

With Vonta Leach, a pure lead blocking fullback and Ricky Williams following, it should make for a good tandem. Kinda reminds fans of Lorenzo Neal blocking for LeRon McClain just a few short years ago.  So, looks like the Ravens might have brought in just the right back for this offense.

Of course the Ravens resigned Marshal Yanda, OG, who is best suited in run blocking.  You can envision a lot of runs in between the tackles this year.

Receiving/Hands

Ricky Williams also has decent hands, he can catch the ball out of the backfield and is suited for short passes or screens.  In 2010 Williams had 19 receptions for 141 yards. Doesn’t seem like a lot, yet he averaged 7.4 yards per reception and has most of his career (7.7).
