Troy Smith was a one-time Heisman Trophy winner at Ohio State. He was drafted by the Ravens, and ended up in San Fran playing with the 49’ers last season trying to get his career on track.
Now, Smith has gone from starting six games for the 49ers last season to losing a tryout to quarterback Kevin O’Connell for the right to backup Dolphins QB Chad Henne. That might be the worst quarterback situation in the league, and Smith couldn’t hook on there.
The future for Smith is as murky as ever, as now that the Dolphins have turned him down, he’s probably going to have to wait for an injury somewhere in the league in order to get another look.
This is also the same organization and coaching staff that turned down Drew Brees.
Hey Matt Loede, what’s your source on this? I heard T. Smith got his look the day after O’Connell signed.
Source was CBS Sports
hey matt sounds like u are a hater son all buckeyes should start what team in the nfl dnt have 1 or 2 buckeyes but real talk troy smith is better then alot of starter and back ups in the nfl and troy needs to b in the nfl
Think passing on Drew Brees says it all.
Got to see Smith play live at Wembley last season, and thought
he had a future at the 49ers. Unfortunately his performances
towards the end of the season, put pay to that!
He’ll get picked up by someone though.
im a major buckeye fan troy is the man and should have been starting in the nfl with the ravans and in san fran dnt worry troy u will get ur shot and i wil be there rooting u on buckeyes
