Jets coach Rex Ryan said that Plaxico Burress has “tweaked” an ankle while working out independently and will be held out of practice for “maybe one or two days.”
Ryan indicated the injury — “something small,” he called it — was not related to the chronic ankle Burress managed while with the Giants. Burress confirmed that the injury is to his left ankle, not the joint that bothered him with the Giants.
“Nothing major,” Ryan said. “I want to be smart with him.”
“It’s nothing serious,” Burress said Thursday. “I know it’s going to be one of those things where, to everybody else on the outside it’s going to be this huge thing, but it’s just a little swelling.”
