Heap Returns Home

When was the last time the Cardinals held a productive tight end?

Former Arizona State standout Todd Heap has reached a two-year deal with the Arizona Cardinals, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Since being drafted 31st overall in ’01, Heap has stayed with the Baltimore Ravens throughout his ten-year NFL career.

The two-time Pro Bowl and All-Pro selection caught 40 passes for 599 yards and five touchdowns last season; including 13 receptions, 151 yards and a score during the Playoffs.

Arizona’s top tight end in ’10: Ben Patrick – 15 catches, 123 yards.

Heap will mentor Cards’ third-round pick from Florida Atlantic, 6-foot-5, 250-pound tight end Rob Housler, who ran a 4.46 40-yard dash.
