From The Silver & Black To Gang Green?
The well-respected Andrew Brandt of the National Football Post has noted that Jets players may restructure contracts in order for the club to sign Oakland Raiders standout cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha:
Am told Jets’ aggressive play with Holmes will not deter pursuit of Nnamdi. Couple players notified of possible restructure if needed.
It looks like, Mark Sanchez, the leader of the Jets, has his teammates truly following his lead. If the Jets make room for Nnamdi to join Darrelle Revis, it could have Gang Green looking the NFL’s version of the hoop team down in South Beach. At first glance, it looked like a pipe dream, now it looks more and more like a scary reality that could hit the AFC East hard.
The Jets already have the “Public Enemy No. 1” label around the league, but will a move to acquire Nnamdi make them even more hated? Rowdy Rowdy Rex Ryan has to be licking his chops, while Bart Scott is preparing feisty messages on he wants to play “two-a-games.” They feed off the attention of being the over-confident bad guys.
