The Seattle Seahawks pulled of a major move today, the first of several to come, acquiring arguably the best available interior lineman in free agency.
Former Oakland Raiders guard Robert Gallery has agreed to a 3 year contract with the Seattle Seahawks.
Gallery joins former head coach and Seahawks offensive line coach in Tom Cable in a long expected renunion, SG has been all over this for months now, but it wasn’t very hard to see this coming.
In bittersweet news, the Seahawks have lost their steady kicker Olindo Mare, he bolted for greener pastures agreeing to a 4 year, $12 million deal.
Will Herring has also decided to jump ship, having agreed to terms with the New Orleans Saints. Irony, his interception is what sealed the deal against the Rams and made the upset against against those same Saints even possible.
Also, Matt Hasselbeck has reportedly agreed to terms with the Tennessee Titans. You’ll see why he didn’t stay in Seattle; the deal was for three years, $21 million, instead of an essential one year, $7 million deal he would have gotten from Seattle.
There will be a smattering of these updates all day, expect to know where Brandon Mebane lands by the end of the day and likely if the Seahawks land Sidney Rice.
Tyson Clabo is probably not going to become a Seahawk despite reports with the signing of Gallery, the Seahawks only needed one starting offensive lineman and are now set along the front five.
