Seattle to Trade for QB Tavaris Jackson? Not So Fast

I will say if a recent report from Mark Miller of Yahoo! Sports is accurate then Pete Carroll has lost his marbles or something is terribly wrong with the unrestricted free agency status.

According to Miller the Seahawks are interested in trading for unrestricted free agent quarterback Tavaris Jackson.  See this just doesn’t make any sense.

Here’s the excerpt in the report:

ESPN 610 Seattle reports that Jackson may be getting traded to the Seattle Seahawks once the players and owners finally agree upon the new CBA.

Now I would simply shrug this off as a typo, but the title of his article is “Vikings sending Jackson to Seahawks”.

This makes absolutely no sense, the only situation I can comprehend is a sign and trade, but why on earth would such a scenario be agreed to? Even as part of a bigger package it makes zero sense, this isn’t the NBA.

If bringing Jackson in to be the starter is really what Pete Carroll “has up his sleeve”, well, I think he’s feeling a little lucky then if you catch my drift.

Seattle will not trade for him. Tavaris is a free agent. A team only needs to sign him.

    Exactly my point.
