Redskins LB Orakpo Speaks on the Vince Young to Washington Rumors

The hot rumor right now involving the Redskins is that the team has an interest in bringing in Titans QB Vince Young. LB Brian Orakpo, who played with Young at Texas, was asked by reporters about the rumor, and stated the following in the Washington Post.

“As far as football and what he’s gonna do in the future, haven’t really gotten that aspect of it, but I wish him the best and we’ll see,” Orakpo said. “I mean, it’s all speculation. We really can’t tell what’s gonna go on.” Later, though, Orakpo offered a strong endorsement of Young’s abilities. “He was a great player, great leader for our team for the time when I was there in Texas,” Orakpo told the Examiner’s John Keim. “He’s so athletic and he’s a great, great competitor, man, a great playmaker. Obviously things haven’t been going well for him in his NFL career, but he’s still a young kid, a young guy, and he still has a future ahead of him. Any team that picks him up, man, I know what type of player [he is]. Once you get the best out of the man, and forget all the hoopla surrounding him, he’s gonna be a hell of a player.”

The big question about Young is what do the Redskins do with Donovan McNabb if they do pick up Young? The team has been rumored to be ready to ship McNabb to Minnesota or possibly even Arizona. If that happens and Young comes to the club, he would likely compete for playing time with Rex Grossman, who started some games last season for McNabb after he was benched.

well, im glad if “VY” goes to the redskins. Thats one less team we have to worry about going anywhere. lmao. “Great Leader”???? Really?? hahaha! Only thing vince takes the LEAD in is tucking his tail between his legs and limping his thin skinned butt to the locker room before the rest of the team during the game. Please!!! Me having seen first hand and being at the games he has made a fool out of himself, that dude needs to be washing dishes somewhere with other busted QB’s that people thought would be great and just lost it once in the NFL. I was a VY believer in the beginning, but it didnt take long for question marks to arise with him. He is NO leader!!! Maybe him and “Pacman” Jones can unite as a wrestling tag team in the WCW or something.Maybe instead of “vy”, vince can be “nt”..NO TALENT!!!

Just give Vince a head coach who loves winning.

Vince can fight through adversity, as long as it isn’t coming from his own dumbass, ego-maniacal head coach.
