The Dolphins are wary of Brandon Marshall’s issues and worried about his future according to Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald.
The Dolphins, at this time, have no intention to break ties with Marshall, a source said Saturday. Miami reportedly has the option to break away from Marshall by not paying a $3 million option bonus that guarantees the player’s salary through 2012.
The team on Saturday actually had to ask the NFL for permission to talk to a player it has signed to a $47.5 million contract. Permission was denied. The NFL told the Dolphins only team doctors and trainers can talk to Marshall, and that has to be about his health. The club also can talk to Marshall’s private doctor.
But the line of communication stops there. Sparano can’t talk to Marshall. Ireland can’t talk to Marshall. Marshall is off limits to the Dolphins until the NFL lockout is lifted
“Very frustrating,” one club source texted.
