Colts with Interest in Former Bears DT Tommie Harris?

Vaughn McClure of the Chicago Tribune suggests via Twitter that ex-Bears defensive tackle Tommie Harris will sign as a free agent with the Indianapolis Colts as soon as the lockout ends.

The rumor has immediately garnered interest as Harris would be a natural fit for the Colts’ defensive scheme, which resembles the Bears, and because the Colts rarely dip into the fee agent pool for talent. Harris was a standout for the Bears until a plague of injuries that began in 2007.

Although only 28, few knowledgeable football people believe Harris has much left in the tank because of his injuries. He played only sporadically for the Bears in the 2010 season after being benched from the starting lineup and was released on February 28th.
