Sterger Speaks For First Time On Favre Incident on ABC’s “Good Morning America”

Jenn Sterger is set to appear in her first interview since the Brett Favre sexting scandal broke last year.

ABC spokeswoman Alyssa Apple confirmed to USA TODAY’S Game On! that Sterger will appear with anchor George Stephanopoulos on Good Morning America morning show this week. The two-part interview will air Tuesday and Wednesday.

“I’m not a gold-digger,” Sterge said in the interview. “I haven’t made a dime off anything in this whole situation. Not from the pictures. Not from Favre. I never wanted to sue anyone. That was never an intention of mine.”

Sterger catapulted into the headlines after Deadspin.com reported she received suggestive voicemails, emails and photos from Favre while he was quarterbacking the New York Jets and she was working as as on-air game days hostess.

Sterger has yet to speak publicly about what did or didn’t happen with Favre. Her last on-air job with Versus network’s show, The Daily Line, disappeared in October after the show was canceled due to lousy ratings. She eventually cooperated with the NFL’s internal investigation of the incident. But she’s kept a low public profile since.

What life does she want back? Obscurity? Maybe she shouldn’t have (allegedly) laughed at the photos and voicemails. Then, maybe people would feel bad for her. Or maybe if she had pressed charges immediately after getting the job at Versus.
