Former Miami QB Pennington Tears ACL In Pickup Game, Out For Year

Former Dolphins backup quarterback Chad Pennington has found himself suffering through yet another season ending injury, only this time it has nothing to do with his throwing shoulder.

Pennington tore his ACL today in a pickup game of basketball, and is scheduled to undergo surgery to repair it on April 7th.

Pennington was trying to make a comeback this season yet again, but like numerous times before, he was set back by a season-ending inury. It’s a shame this time though, because multiple teams were reportedly interested in bringing Pennington on to be in contention for their starting quarterback spot.

Pennington will be 36 next season, when he will next be able to play, so retirement will be one of the first decisions that he will mull over.
