Bengals Reportedly Place Highest Tender On CB Jonathan Joseph

The Bengals have given cornerback Johnathan Joseph the highest restricted free-agent tender, which would cost any team that signs him a first- and a third-round draft pick, The Cincinnati Enquirer reported Wednesday, citing a league source. The Bengals also offered a second-round tender to linebacker Brandon Johnson and one with no compensation attached to guard Nate Livings.

Joseph, a five-year pro, had 42 tackles, eight passes defensed and three interceptions in 12 games last season, when he was bothered by a high ankle sprain. Joseph has 14 career interceptions, and Bengals coach Marvin Lewis has said the team is discussing a new contract with the cornerback.Johnson, also a five-year pro, played in all 16 games, starting three, and had 38 tackles and one interception.
