Bears QB Cutler Seems Just Fine Walking Around Los Angeles

From: TMZ

Chicago Bears quarterback Jay Cutler mustered up enough toughness to stroll around an L.A. shopping center with his girlfriend Kristin Cavallari yesterday … TOUGH!!!!!!

Even with his busted knee — Cutler managed to keep up with Kristin for the entire duration of the shopping trip … TOUGH!!!!!

Of course, our guy didn’t ask Jay about his injury … or the rampant criticism of his dedication to the Bears … or anything relevant.

But we did ask Kristin about her quick jaunt to Crate and Barrel.

This is directed at TMZ, who wrote those words: it could just be that the pain doesn’t bother him.

I would 100% disagree that his injury and the criticism of his dedication are relevant. Unless you have evidence that the MRI is a lie, his injury is the same one that knocked out Troy Polamalu and Hines Ward.

As for the criticism of his dedication, I’m waiting for one coach or teammate to question that…still waiting. Even John Lynch and John Elway – who felt disrespected by him – haven’t questioned his work ethic or his dedication.

Another angle is that the pain might not be the issue at all. Cutler often employs terrible mechanics. However, it’s possible that he played four series with this knee injury and did try to plant his knee when the throw demanded it, but wasn’t able to and clearly wasn’t a help to his team.

Coaches who have won the super bowl, all agree on one thing, Cutler lacks the mentality and leadership skills necessary to be a great quarterback! He has the physical ability, not the mental ability! I have two bad knees, and there is no way Cutler should have been walking around that mall!

One coach who won a Super Bowl – John Madden – thinks Cutler has the right mentality to be a great quarterback. I don’t think Belichick or Lombardi have weighed in on it. So, maybe a few agree with you but not “all”.

It’s hard for me to believe that you can take the beating he’s taken at Vanderbilt, Denver and Chicago and not have the mental make-up to lead. His teammates think he’s funny and confident in the huddle. Do you think Manning is a good leader, with all the pouting and shrugging he does? I mean, maybe he gets away with that because he’s won a Super Bowl but he did it before he won that, too.
