CSN Baltimore’s Brent Harris has the a video report of the end of the year press conference.
There are several key points that came out of that address with the most important being the endorsement of Offensive Coordinator Cam Cameron. Cameron will have another season to right the offense but he will do so with input from John Harbaugh.
Harbaugh, a former Special Teams coach was always involved in meetings on the Defense as well as Special Teams but not Offense. That will change heading into next season.
Harbaugh also acknowledged that there was some disconnect between Quarterback Joe Flacco, Cameron, and Quarterbacks coach Jim Zorn that may have hindered the success of the offense. Zorn is a proponent of the West Coast Offense while Cameron is a student of Don Coryell. So often times it was Flacco filling Zorn in on some of the points of the plays. Not the best situation.
The Running Game needs to improve – no surprise there. That includes the Offensive Line and probably a re-emphasis on establishing the run. The Yards per carry dropped from the previous season from 4.7 to 3.8 in 2010.
