No Decision on Lewis in Cincinnati; Expected to Speak with San Francisco

The Bengals announced via their twitter feed that there will be no announcement made today on the future of head coach Marvin Lewis.  Lewis concluded a meeting with the players at noon today, but no one has shared details with the media.

Meanwhile, PFT mentions a report that claims that the 49ers have an interest in Lewis, and that Lewis’ representatives have contacted Niners management. However, he’s seen as sitting behind Jim Harbaugh and Jeff Fisher on San Fran’s short list.

Since he’s currently without a contract, Lewis can explore that possibility while continuing to negotiate with the Bengals.  We reported yesterday that he could also be garnering interest from the University of Pittsburgh for their opening.
