The Chiefs spent Monday watching film of their worst game of the year, a 31-0 blowout loss to the Chargers that looked a lot like the team two seasons ago that was mocked by just about everyone in the NFL.
If the Chiefs 2010 season is going to end on a different note than the past few seasons of not being in the playoffs, they are going to have to put Sunday behind them. In a hurry.
“I know most of the guys are like me,” running back Thomas Jones says. “They can’t wait to get back to the grind.”
And they had better do it fast. They were outgained 426-67, and looked like a team that might as well had stayed on the bus.
Sure they can make the excuse they didn’t have their starting QB, but at the end of the day, no one in the tough world of the NFL is going to feel sorry for the Chiefs.
It can Brodie Croyle, or anyone else for that matter at QB, but the Chiefs need to find a way to go 3-0 to end of the year, or this surprising year that has been so much fun could easily end with a sour note.
It’s all on them.
