First off, it’s not been a half to remember for tight end Rob Gronkowski. Sure he has two catches for 28 yards, but was part of the gaffe on the opening kickoff, and then fumbled on the two when the team was ready to go in to make it a 17-14 game. Let’s see how much he plays in the second half.
The kickoff after the Browns took a 3-0 lead was a mistake that cannot happen. While Gronkowski should have made the catch, Sammy Morris needs to just fall on the ball.
Tom Brady was 1 for 6 for 10 yards in the first quarter, and It looks like he was off on just about every pass. He stepped up to go 9 for 11 for 125 yards in the second quarter, and that’s the type of play he will need to have in the second half.
You knew the Browns were going to have trick plays, and yet the Pats still fell for them, and that was obvious on the trick where Chauncy Stuckey scored on the handoff from Josh Cribbs. The Browns cannot beat you man to man, but give them credit for making it fun.
They need to pressure Colt McCoy more, like the play where he was able to escape to get it to Cribbs on third down on the TD drive.
Not time to panic, your down 10 points to a team that is 2-5, there could be worse things in the world, but they need to get something quickly on the first drive of the second half.
