NFL Gridiron Gab Week Nine Preview: New England at Cleveland

Belichick’s Patriots vs. Mangini’s Browns: Mismatch on Paper?

New England Patriots @ Cleveland Browns

When: Sunday 1:00 p.m

Where: Cleveland Browns Stadium

Weather: Sunny with a high of 46 and a low of 34

Players to watch:

Josh Cribbs

The Browns are going to need there play-maker to make some plays this weekend if they are going to have a shot at beating New England. The team needs to have Cribbs be more productive then what he has been the first part of the season.

Colt McCoy

It looks like Colt is going to start at home against the Patriots this weekend. I can’t wait for the Stadium to rock when they call out the kids name during introductions. What a big game this is for Colt McCoy and the Cleveland Browns, the rookie has a real opportunity to win this city over getting a victory on Sunday. Colt needs to play mistake free football and be the leader of this team.

Peyton Hillis

The Browns needs the running back to lead the offense like he has most of 2010. Hillis seems to get better as games go on and the Browns are going to need him immensely if they have a lead late in the game. Peyton is a hard-nosed running back that should be able to punish the Patriots defense.

Rob Ryan

The Browns coach, put together a tremendous game plan to stop the Saints offense two weeks ago. He might have to top that if the Browns want a shot at beating New England. Bill Belichick is going to want to put it to his former pal Eric Mangini this Sunday.

Keys to the game:

Contain Tom Brady and the Patriots passing attack.

Limit mental mistakes

Win the Turnover Battle

Win the Field Possession game

Establish the running game

Cleveland Browns 20 New England Patriots 14

This is a huge game for the Cleveland Browns this weekend. They could really prove they are turning the corner with a win this Sunday. The team is going to need to play near perfect football for them to have a chance at winning. This one is going to be a good one at the Stadium on Sunday.

  1. Mike says:

You are crazy!!! PATS are red hot right now, and they have done really well against the running game. Peyton Hillis will have 1 or 2 yard pick ups when he gets the ball. And the Browns secondary is a mess, look for Brady to be slinging the ball, lots of passing to Branch, Welker, and Woodhead. You may even see some interesting trick plays/formations on Eric Mangina because he used to work for Kraft. Lets just say Colt McCoy will get some real NFL hits put on him this week. Good Luck Browns fans, youll need it.
