It could be a stretch for TE Antonio Gates to play Sunday, as Wednesday he spent practice on a scooter.
Kevin Acee of the San Diego Union-Tribune reported that Gates was protecting his right foot, the opposite foot from the toe and ankle injuries that Gates has been playing through.
In Week Eight’s win over the Titans, Gates popped the plantar fascia in his right foot. Acee reported that Gates had to be driven to his car in a cart on Monday because he couldn’t walk.
“It’s the worst feeling in the world,” Gates said about the tearing of his plantar fascia. “Sometimes you feel your career is coming to an end.”
Gates has played through pain the past few games, but the pain may be too much for him to play on Sunday vs. the Texans.
