Redskins RB Portis about two weeks away from testing injured groin

Maybe watching Ryan Torain rush for back to back 100 yard games has inspired Clinton Portis, who now says he is about two weeks away from testing his injured groin.

Portis has been jogging as part of his rehabilitation program for the groin, which he injured during the Redskins win back in week four over the Eagles in Philly.

The injury was diagnosed as a third-degree separation of the left groin, with the muscle separated off the bone. Surgery wasn’t required.

“It’s still going to be, for sure, a couple of weeks. It takes some time,” Shanahan said, according to The Post. “With a third-degree separation, you don’t want to push it too hard. We just kind of have to wait and see. To me, it’ll be a minimum of two weeks before he’s able to even push it.”

Portis will miss his fourth consecutive game Sunday when the Redskins play the Lions. The Redskins have a bye week before playing host to the Eagles on November 15th.
