The Brett Favre photo story remains very much in the headlines, and the NY Daily News is reporting that the defense attorney hired by Jenn Sterger met Wednesday with the NFL official investigating the graphic photos.
The defense attorney, Joseph Conway, said Wednesday night that the conversation took place hours after Favre appeared at a news conference in Minnesota and refused to discuss his own meeting Tuesday with the official, calling the probe “a league issue” at least four times.
“We have begun a dialogue with the NFL although we have not made any decisions at this time,” Conway said. Sterger’s spokesman, Phil Reese, said in a statement that her decision to hire Conway’s firm, LaRusso and Conway, came “after much deliberation.”
“We have in fact been retained to advise her and pursue any potential remedies she might have,” Conway told the Daily News, declining to say more about the potential legal mine field that Favre, the Jets and the NFL are now in.
Why do I smell a settlement in this case? The fact that Sterger is having her defense attorney talk to the NFL shows that she means business, and that she isn’t going to go away quietly. Favre had better get someone good to represent him as he looks to be at total fault in this case.
