Panthers going back to Matt Moore at QB Sunday vs Niners

There’s a QB switch again in Carolina, as the team is going back to the guy that started the season – Matt Moore. The winless club had Sunday off, and today coach John Fox announced the team was going back to Moore from struggling rookie Jimmy Clausen.

Fox stated Monday that Moore will start on Sunday against San Francisco. The move comes as the Panthers have scored a league-low 52 points and has the league’s worst-rated passing game.

Moore started the first two games, but was benched after committing six turnovers. Clausen hasn’t fared much better, completing just 47 percent of his passes with one touchdown and three interceptions. But Clausen has fumbled seven times, losing three.

Moore closed last season 4-1 as a starter in relief of Jake Delhomme.
