Gridiron Gab Week Six Preview: Tennessee at Jacksonville

Tonight’s matchup between the Jacksonville Jaguars and Tennessee Titans will feature two of the top running backs in the entire league. Maurice Jones-Drew has started the year strong and will look to continue that pace tonight in Jacksonville.

Chris Johnson has had an up and down season, according to his personal predictions. Johnson boldly stated that he would rush for over 2,500 yards this season, and is currently not on pace. Yet, he has surpassed 100 yards in three of the Titan’s five games. The only times he was held under the century mark was against Denver and Pittsburgh.

This game will come down to quarterback play vs. secondaries. Both the Titans and Jaguars have struggled to stop the pass in the early stages of the season. Jacksonville and Tennessee are run first teams, but tonight will be all about the aerial attack. This game will come down to which team is able to make the big throw when eight men are jammed in the box.

Winning on the road is tough, and winning a Monday Night road game is even tougher. I’ll go with Jacksonville pulling out a slight victory as David Garrard makes enough plays to give his team the victory.

Jacksonville 21, Tennessee 17
