Saints rookie RB Ivory facing felony assault charges

According to a WWLTV report, New Orleans Saints running back, Chris Ivory is currently facing felony assault charges stemming from his days as a student at Washington State in July 2009.

Charged with a Class B felony for allegedly assaulting another student with a bottle to the head, Ivory faces 3-9 months in prison if convicted. This too is according to the report which sources the Whitman County Prosecutor’s office as well as Ivory’s attorney.

According to head coach, Sean Payton, the Saints and the NFL have been fully aware of the situation since before the 2010 draft, after which Ivory signed with the team as an undrafted free agent.

No court date has yet been reported.
